Foster Muscle Therapy: Northern Colorado's Premier Home of PUSH

"One of the things I like best about PUSH Therapy is there are so many things you can do at home or at work to maintain the changes your body makes after a session with Maria.  I never want to go back to the way I felt before PUSH Therapy"

PUSH Treatment PlanSM

The PUSH Treatment Plan has four main components: treatment, self-treatment, PUSH Mobility TrainingSM, and PUSH Core StrengtheningSM.

Treatments are the most critical aspect to the plan. Treatment is essential to breaking the grip of Chronic Passive Tension and returning the body to a more relaxed, natural state. Treatments on a regular basis help the tissue maintain the changes. Regular evaluation of progress and constant education are part of treatment sessions.

Self-treating problem areas will prevent or slow the building of tension between treatments and help you make faster progress towards long-term changes to the tissue. During onsets of pain, you will be equipped with knowledge and techniques so that you can take immediate action to mitigate or end the pain. You can be an active participant in your own healing.

Self-treatment reinforces the gains made through treatment. Mobility Training and PUSH Core Strengthening complete the PUSH Treatment Plan.  While treatment and self-treatment can do much to alleviate pain, PUSH Mobility Training and PUSH Core Strengthening are designed to be preventive in nature so that the pain doesn’t reoccur.

PUSH Mobility Training involves identifying the common daily actions which cause the build- up of tension in the body and then altering those motions.  The goal is not to give up hobbies you enjoy or activities you have to engage in for work.  Instead you learn to perform those actions without undue tension in the body.

With PUSH Core Strengthening, rigid muscle memory patterns are replaced with new supple patterns.  Most core conditioning programs focus on creating rigidity and tension in the core and then confuse this with strength.  PUSH Core Strengthening is designed to create a more powerful body where muscles are strengthened while staying supple and mobile.  A powerful core allows your body to align naturally, letting your skeleton support you.  Your core muscles are then free to power and move you.  By staying supple and mobile, they connect your upper and lower body, maximizing function while minimizing the chance of injury due to isolating and overworking a particular area.  Both PUSH Core Strengthening and Mobility Training require practice and physical training of the muscles, but this can solidify the improvements made through treatment and self-treatment and help keep you pain- free and functioning optimally long-term.

When these four reinforcing components (treatment, self-treatment, mobility training and PUSH Core Strengthening) are implemented, the end result is a pain-free, relaxed body that knows how to stay that way.
